Exceptional Mid-Victorian Inlaid Jewellery Box

Description
This is an exceptional mid-Victorian inlaid jewellery box. It's lid has an intricate pattern with an array of different specimen woods. All 4 sides have a diamond pattern bordered by an ebony, satin wood, mahogany barber pole pattern. Its construction and the execution of the exterior patterning is clearly done by a master craftsman.The interior is lined in its original burgundy satin. There is an additional compartment in the lid that holds a photo and has a working lock and key to access it.
The box body is made of mahogany and it is of generous size.
