Description

A capacious and good quality Edwardian tall walnut open bookcase with six adjustable shelves, having an over-hung cornice, carved trusses to the top of the pilasters, and raised on a plinth base. Ideal for use in an alcove.

Condition and Details of Restoration:
This item is in sound original structural condition, apart from the cornice which was partially missing when we acquired the bookcase and has been rebuilt. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some minor old marks as would be expected, but nothing serious or unsightly. There are marks to the shelves and two knot holes to the back, which we have covered with hessian from the rear. None of these are visible once the bookcase is in use.
