Description

An impressive and superb quality early Victorian period mahogany chiffonier sideboard, featuring a raised superstructure to the rear with carved architectural pediment and shelf, raised on turned supports. The main cabinet section has a single cushion-front full width oak lined drawer to the frieze, above two doors with C-scroll mouldings flanked by half-round pilasters, opening to reveal an interior with shelves and a cellaret drawer , and is raised on a plinth base.

Condition and Details of Restoration:
This item is in original untouched condition and is structurally completely sound. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some old marks underneath the polish, which is attractively slightly faded in places. There is an old repair (small patch of veneer) to the top, by the right hand column supporting the superstructure (see detail photograph of the top).
