Description

An exquisite early 19th century rosewood and brass writing slope with inset military style brass handles. Inside features a gilt tooled brown leather writing surface, a pen tray, and two ink wells. Lifting the front of the writing surface reveals a storage area and crossed ribbon backing on the surface. The rear of the writing surface can be lifted to reveal further storage space with a drop-in tray. The rear of this compartment features a spring loaded compartment opening to reveal secret drawers. The brass inlaid panel to the top has a monogram which is unfortunately rubbed to the point of being indistinct.

Condition & Details of Restoration:
This item is in original structural condition and is completely sound. The polish has been re-finished and the leather inset replaced, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner.
