Description

A handsome and fine quality brass and ebonised ink stand, having two glass ink wells, two pen trays, and a brass candle sconce above a single drawer, with chased brass handles to each end and brass Sphinxes to the front and rear, and raised on brass ‘lion’s paw’ feet.

Possibly European.

Condition and Details of Restoration:
This item is in original untouched structural condition and completely sound. The polish has been revived and the brass cleaned, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some old marks underneath the polish and to the brass as might be expected on an example of this age in our opinion the photographs are representative.
