A handsome and fine quality late George III mahogany square wash stand with ebonised banding, raised on four square section tapering legs with garters, united by a central tier with oak lined drawer.

Condition & Details of Restoration
This item would most likely originally have had a top with holes cut into it to accommodate a wash basin and beaker this has been replaced with a solid top to facilitate use as a bedside or night table. Apart from this, it is in original structural condition. The polish has been refinished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some very minor old marks under the polish, but nothing you wouldn’t expect to find on an item like this that is in very good condition for its age. The brass handle is of the period but not original.
