Description

A quite superb quality early Victorian rosewood breakfast or centre table. The octagonal top is in eye-catching wild grained rosewood veneered on to tight grained mahogany for extra structural integrity, raised on an elaborately carved rosewood turned tulip stem and cabriole leg base with scroll toes and original brass castors. The top of this table can be detached for ease of transport, and can also be tipped upright when attached, allowing the table to be pushed into a corner and remain a decorative item when not in use.

Width 47” (120cm) Depth 47” (120cm) Height 29” (74cm)

Condition and Details of Restoration
This table is in original untouched structural condition and completely sound, apart from the retaining catch which is a later replacement of the period style. The polish has been re-finished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some minor old marks underneath the polish as might be expected on an example of this age, as can be seen from the photographs.
