Description

A superb Regency period ‘X-frame’ rosewood Canterbury. Originally designed for storage of sheet music, these are most often used as a magazine rack in present times. This example features three elegant ‘X’ shaped divisions to the top, united by turned stretchers, with a beautifully carved laurel wreath to both the front and the back. Below this is a single drawer with turned knob handles, raised on pretty turned legs with original brass cup castors.

Condition & Details of Restoration
This Canterbury is in excellent and sound structural condition. The polish has been re-finished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some old marks underneath the polish, but all extremely minor.
