Victorian Mahogany Secretaire Wellington Chest

Description
A handsome and fine quality mid Victorian mahogany Wellington chest, having five standard drawers and one fall-front secretaire drawer fitted with pigeonholes, two satinwood fronted drawers, and a leather inset scriber. The drawers are flanked by flat pilasters with carved trusses to the top, the right hand pilaster hingeing to act as a locking bar.DateMid Victorian :

ConditionThis chest is in original untouched structural condition. The polish has been revived and the leather inset scriber replaced, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some minor old marks underneath the polish as might be expected on an example of this age, as can be seen from the photographs. The centre panel of the back (not generally visible as this item is designed to stand against a wall) has been replaced at some point.
