Description

An impressive and superior quality example of a mid Victorian credenza in particularly decoratively grained burr walnut, having a bow glass door to each end opening to reveal a faux moiré lined interior with two shelves, flanking a blind central door with particularly finely detailed hand cut boxwood marquetry inlay, also opening to reveal a faux moiré lined interior, this time with one shelf. The central door is flanked by flat pilasters with further marquetry inlay and extremely finely cast brass mounts. Above this is a frieze with further marquetry inlay and brass beading, and below is a shaped plinth base.
