Impressive and superb quality George III mahogany bureau, the chequer banded fall being supported on two pull out lopers and opening to reveal a magnificently fitted interior of a central cupboard door with original marquetry shell inlay, flanked by two secret compartments with reeded fronts and brass Corinthian column capitals, these in turn flanked by an arrangement of drawers and pigeonholes including hidden ‘pagoda roof’ drawers, all above an arrangement of four graduated oak lined drawers with original handles, and raised on ogee bracket feet.
