Description
Large Chinese famille rose temple jar with lid. Central decoration includes the 8 auspicious Buddhist signs surrounded by a multitude of medallions, with a lappet border at the base, a band of ruyi heads around the collar and 4 red bats on the neck. The lid is decorated with medallions and surrounded by a key fret pattern. Dating from the Guangxu period (1875 - 1908). Condition: There appears to have been some professional restoration to the rim and lid in the past. Otherwise in good order for age.Size: Height 43 cm, diameter approximately 25 cm.
