We have great pleasure in being able to offer for sale a fantastic tall and functional decorators piece, a very imposing Jugendstil WMF copper lidded pitcher, jug or flagon.

The pitcher is of a truncated conical form with a hinged brass crested copper lid extending to an ornate brass handle, which in turn extends to the conical body. The body and lid are both ornately embossed with a lovely art nouveau design. The body of the pitcher also caries two cartouches, one vacant and the second carrying a German inscription dating to 1904. The circular base of the pitcher carries the WMF ostrich mark and the pattern number 29.

The pitcher is 15.5 inches (39.5cm) high and 5.3 inches (13.5cm) in diameter to the base. This pitcher or jug is in a very good antique condition, although the body does carry one or two very minor indentations commensurate with its age.
