The table, when fully folded out, is 27 inches (68.6cm) high, 22 inches (56cm) long and 18 inches (45.7cm) wide. The table is in a very good unrestored condition with wear consistent with its age and military usage.
Hatherley patent tables were invented for military purposesby Charles Allen Jones, seventh son of Anthony Gilbert Jones (mayor of Gloucester on three occasions) of Hatherley House now Hatherley Manor Hotel.
