We have for sale a very well executed water colour painting by the excellent Yorkshire/North American artist Geoffrey Jenkinson of Ripley Castle.

This very attractive large watercolour painting depicts a summer view of Ripley Castle from across the lake. The painting is signed towards the bottom right by Geoffrey Jenkinson R.C.A 1975.

The painting measures 31.5 inches (80cm) wide 24.8 inches (63cm) wide including the frame and is in an excellent condition having just been framed in a good quality gilt frame.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Geoffrey Jenkinson, 1925-2006 was a landscape artist. He was born in Leeds, studied at Pudsey Technical College and exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists and The Royal Cambrian Academy. He studied painting at Keighley Art College where he was taught by Frederick Cecil Jones. He moved to the United States in the 1950s where he became a member of the Arizona Artists Guild, but made several trips back to Yorkshire where he also painted local scenes.
