1947 Solid Silver Deco Design Tea Strainer

Description
We have for sale an attractive and functional heavy solid silver tea strainer dating to 1947.This lovely silver tea strainer is of a typical late art deco geometrical design consisting of a straining bowl extending to two handles. The underside of the bowl carries full English hallmarks for Birmingham 1947, along with the makers marks for Elkington and Co.
The tea strainer measures 4.5 inches (11.4cm) from handle to handle and weighs 49.2g. The tea strainer is in a very good to excellent condition although the upper part of the "&" of the Elkington & Co makers mark is rubbed, see photograph 5.
