We have for sale a attractive and very tactile silver oval Edwardian vesta case.

This attractive silver oval vesta is quarter decorated with with an engraved foliate design and the monogram TA. The vesta case also caries full English hallmarks for Birmingham 1902 along with the makers marks for the silversmith Arthur Cook.

Arthur Cook of Carver Street, Birmingham, was active as a silversmith between 1899 and 1904 and during this time he was a prolific manufacturer of vestas and other small silver wares.

The vesta is 1.7 inches (4.4cm) long, weighs 17.9g and is in a very good condition with an excellent hinge and tightly fitting lid. However, there is some surface ware consistent with the age of the vesta
