Prattware Tobacco Jar Circa 1860

Description
For sale we have this hard to find Prattware Tobacco jar.The jar is of a cylindrical lidded form and decorated with a golden brown marbled base colour with two panels on opposing sides, one panel depicting War, and the other peace. The panel depicting war is signed J Austin 55. The underside carries no marks, but the pictures within the panels are typical Prattware designs dating from the mid 19th century.
The tobacco jar is 5½ inches (14cm) high and is in a very good condition other than a repair to the junction of the lid and it's handle.
