Description

The perfect Christmas present for the collector of18th century Newhall Porcelain, a very attractive New Hall cup and saucer.

This very elegant fluted cup and saucer is decorated with the Newhall pattern No 155, consisting of an underglaze mazarine blue with an overglaze gilt border (see New Hall & its Imitations by David Holgate, 1971). Although the bases of the cup and saucer are both unmarked the pattern dates the cup and saucer to 1787.

The cup is 2 & 5/8 inches (approximately 6.7cm) high and the saucer is 5 & 1/8 inches (approximately 13cm)in diameter. Both are in a very good antique condition with no chips crack or repairs. However, the overglaze gilt is worn in places.
