A fine quality Victorian Cornish serpentine marble doorstop/porter. (made on the Cornish Peninsula) The solid piece of serpentine marble is an ovoid shape with a brass ring handle. The handle sits slightly proud where it is inserted into the marble. One very small nibble on the base as seen in photo. Probably one of the best veined and coloured piece of serpentine I have handled. Weight 3.1 kilos. 9 3/4" tall x 4" diameter base. Very hard to find in this condition. All original.
