Description

A very smart and unusual Victorian Brass and Malachite inkstand. Circa 1860. The lid inset with a malachite (copper carbonate hydroxide mineral) cabochon. A very hard to see with the naked eye tiny shake to one edge of the cabochon (see picture). Two tiny chips to the original glass liner. Does not detract from the beauty of this inkstand. The malachite cabochon is beautifully veined. Good size at 5 3/8" diameter x 3 1/2" tall. Good original polish to the brass.
