Description

Charlotte Rhead (Attr.) for Shelley Pottery. A very rare "Pomegranate" Design Shelley Ginger Jar and Cover circa 1928. This jar was made in bas-relief rather than tube lined like William Moorcroft wares. These type of wares started production in 1928 and ceased production in 1929. Deep blue ground and painted fruit. Printed makers mark.
Reference Bonhams 14th march 2007. Ceramic Design 1860-1945 Including The Creffield Collection and The Senft Collection. (price £1080 incl. premium.
