Description

A Paul Lucien Maze (1887 - 1979) pastel entitled 'Couple At Table'. Labels verso for Panter & Hall, Mayfair, London and Christie's. The works of Paul Maze, a protégé of Monet and Pissarro, are exhibited at The Tate, Fitzwilliam Museum and in private collections worldwide, including that of HM The Late Queen Mother. Maze was as also a tutor and life-long friend of Winston Churchill who commented "With the fewest of strokes he can create an impression at once true and beautiful... a vivid and powerful interpreter to us of the forces and harmony of Nature".
