Description

Early 18th century castle cabinet made of ash and curved ash loupe on the front and sides. The cocked hat cornice is surmounted on the central part of a large shell which is followed by a smaller one on the top transom. Carved and fretwork doors with molded sides with three panels. The interior of this presentation cabinet comes with 4 shelves, one of which with a row three drawers crossbow. Rounded uprights ending in carved snail and sleeping feet with foliage ornaments. There is also a beautiful original ironwork signed I. Pierre Varnez (see photos). Provincial work of Deux Sèvres, Regency period.
