Jesty from the Old White Hart

Description
A very interesting carved oak statue of a hooded figure, inscribed to the base 'Jesty from the Old White Hart'.Jesty stands just short of a foot tall. He is very well carved and probably dates from the early part of the 19th century. He is reputed to have come from the White Hart pub on Drury Lane, one of London's oldest hostelries where he may have served as a newell post finial.
