Description

A beautiful quality piece of fossiliferous dark grey marble tops this circular Empire period guéridon table, which dates to circa 1840 and originates from France.

- Small white shell-shape inclusions in the marble.
- Marble top has a moulded edge.
- Lion paw feet to the tripod base, with brass castors beneath.
- Attractively shaped concave panel column support.

This is a relatively small and low circular table, at slightly less than a metre in diameter, making it a lovely lamp table or a display surface for decorative objects.

In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. The marble top has a square shaped white outline mark, which is not obtrusive and blends in well with the colouring, but there are no chips or nibbles.
