Description

A wonderful brass drum style microscope by W. E. & F. Newton of Fleet Street, London, in its padded mahogany box and with the original instructions.

– Engraved with maker’s name, with green label at base of box also for W. E. & F. Newton, Opticians and Globe-makers for Queen Victoria.
– Instructions describe it as a compound microscope.
– Set of lenses and accessories, including a set of slides mounted on bone.
– Mahogany box with black velvet internal lid padding and an external inlaid shaped brass cartouche on the lid.
– Internal drawer with original instructions on use.

A great piece for a collector of scientific instruments.

In good condition, with selection of lenses, accessories, slides and instructions. No key available for the box.
