Description

A Reynold of Ludlow Oak Cotswold school blanket box, supplied to Heals. Stopped chamfering to the supports, pegged tenon and chamfered frame construction, with fielded panelled, reeded and cleated top board, and wrought iron hinges, a Cedar back and Elm base boards, Circa 1950.
Established in Ludlow in 1946, Authur Basil Reynolds (1903-1960), a quaker, had served a cabinet making apprenticeship and then worked for Stanley Webb Davis in Windermere. the firm exhibited at the Festival of Britain, House and Gardens Pavillion 1951, and sold through Heals.
The condition is excellent having been recently professionally restored.
