Emile Galle Overlay Vase C1890

Description
A fantastic miniature etches cameo vase by one of the greatest glass makers of all time. Emile Galle 1846 – 1904. This lovely vase displays flowers and leaves which was one of the makers favorite subject matters. The single overlay flowers are a nice deep crimson which fades from the base leafy area to a lighter shade nearer the top and the flower heads. The ground is a gorgeous peach colour which changes to a lighter orange/yellow when light reflected through.Emile Galle
(Nancy, 8 May 1846 – Nancy, 23 September 1904) was a French artist who worked in glass, and is considered to be one of the major forces in the French Art Nouveau movement.
