Description

The reading top hinged, sloping and adjustable. Beautifully inlaid with fine brass decoration.
There is also a support for holding the music in place. The finely chosen timber is enhanced on all sides, with the same fine brass inlay. At the front of the podium is a door, unusual with a central key and lock to reveal the interior cabinet, which has one removable shelf.

Between the top and the cabinet door is one long drawer, which extends and has a collapsible frontage, to give one a fully flat surface for the music. At the bottom, there is another similar drawer which extends and has a similar collapsible front, and this drawer is supported upon hidden feet.

The whole piece is a charming example of Regency orchestral furniture.
