Description

This Bacchanalian female in bronze is signed by the famous French sculptor Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814). The sculpture of a female holding grapes is beautifully detailed, even down to her delicate toenails and is typical of his work prior to the French Revolution in 1789. This is a wonderful piece which displays the opulence of pre-revolutionary, France.
