Delightful 19th Century Chinese export soapstone water buffalo with an infant child on her back whilst tending to her new born calf, complete with its hardwood stand.This skillfully carved group which has a deep lustre to the polished soap stone combined with the touching subject matter, collectively makes for a highly decorative looking item.
