Mews Antiques

Description

This is a Victorian Rosewood Davenport c1870-90.  Raised on small castors it has plinth feet to the front which form pilasters with carved brackets to the top and bottom with side of the front inlaid panel.  The drawers to the right hand side open with the left hand side being dummy drawers.  It retains its original leather to the writing slope which opens to reveal two interior drawers.  The top has a lift up lid that encloses stationery sections, space for ink wells and a pen holder.  It has good patination and has faded to a lovely  colour.  The inside of the stationery section shows the wood grain off wonderfully.
