Description

This is a Victorian Walnut Work / Games table c1860-80.  Normally these have are planer but this is an ornate example with a chess board to the top.  It is raised on swept and carved feet with scrolled knees.  The cental column is octagonal with a carved collar at its waiste.  The key is a replacement but the lock is original.  The top edge is chamfered with a chess board inlaid to the centre and boxwood and ebony foliate inlay to each side.  The inside has a central section with lift off lid and small comparrtments all around.  We have not repapered the inside as we could not find the right pattern.
