Small Mid 19th Century English Skeleton Clock

Description
A very small and high quality skeleton timepiece. The very substantial, 4 baluster pillar fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement and 5 spoked wheels throughout (even to the motion work). The Lyre shaped plates are extremely thick and are double-screwed to the pillars. Also having a barley twist crutch and carved to-both-sides pendulum rod with a solid turned bob and transit locking. Mounted upon 4 conical turned feet. All the screws are highly finished blued steel.
Having a 4" diameter, silvered and engraved brass chapter ring with an outer divided minute track, Roman hour numerals and the maker's signature of "THOMPSON, SLOANE STREET, LONDON" spread between the numerals IIII and VIII. The matching blued steel hands are 'Breguet open moon' style,
Under a fine and undamaged, square glass dome and fixed to a beautiful, double tiered, rosewood base with 4 squashed bun feet.
This is a fine example of a small iconic, quintessential English Skeleton clock and no compromise was made during it's manufacture. The maker, E. Thompson worked from 181, Sloane Street, London from 1840 until 1850. The pictures do not do this clock justice and if polished as it should be this little clock will look absolutely stunning. I was hoping to have the time to restore it before I presented it but simply do not have the time due to customer commitments.
Date19th Century :
1845
Dimensions12 1/2" high including dome and base x 7 1/2" wide x 6" deep.
ConditionThis is a very fine clock that was precisely made. It is working very well and keeping time. Though historically maintained, the brushes fitted to the bearing holes are far too short and are 'off-the-peg' from a supplier rather than being turned to fit. The high finish to the metal has not been maintained and should of course be carried out to place this little gem in the condition to which it was intended.
If corrective work is required by a purchaser, then we are happy to discuss a price and timescale for such.
