The upper front arched edge has applied brass reeding that is supported upon brass pillars with integral capitals that are seated within recessed front edges to the case. The case front has inlaid brass stringing in a geometric design above and below the bezel. There is a lower elaborated moulding that is above the short plinth also being inlaid with brass stringing. DateGeorge III : 1800 Dimensions16" high x 9 3/4" wide x 6" deep ConditionThe movement is in working order but would benefit greatly from a complete overhaul and some corrective work to the motion work as it may mis-mesh. The dial is very good and retains its original paint and showing expected signs of ageing. The case is excellent and both locks are present and working. The bezel shows signs of poor hinge repair at some point in the past, however, its seems to be stucturally sound. A price and timescale for any work required by the purchaser can be advised upon enquiry.
