Description

Made by the renowned firm of Shapland & Petter, this Arts & Crafts mahogany bookcase has pierced decoration to the gallery and the shaped sides, cornucopia carvings to the cupboard doors and copper handles to complement the copper filigree over the glazed central door. The two shelves either side of the door are adjustable and the back is panelled. The locks bear the firm's S & P B stamp.

It measures 111.5cm wide, 134.5cm high and 26.5cm deep.

It is in very good and largely original condition. The two tops have been refinished and, on one, an old stain is discernible but only under close scrutiny. The locks are missing their key.
