Description

A fantastic quality bronze of Vercingetorix (the Gallic warlord who resisted Julius Caesar’s Roman advance) This large bronze has a fabulous patina, the base is signed “Debut” and on the lower base there’s a plaque marked SALON Des BEAUX- ARTS Par DEBUT (Prix de Roma) On the back of the base is a Paris foundry mark Vrai bronze B.D Paris. Circa 1880.
