Gorgeous! - This adorable Gwenda Vintage Powder Compact is in lovely condition. c. 1930 Fabulous square shaped all clasps and hinges are in good order, opening to reveal an exceptionally clean interior with a fitted sifter. The top is exquisite the colours bright and vibrant, using a deep blue foil to enahance the image of water and the colours in the kingfisher , the base is black enamel. Measuring c. 2.1/4" inch (5.4 cm) square. It is in lovely vintge condition showing only very minor signs commensurate with its age and having been pre-loved. - a beautiful piece that will delight the most discerning of collectors.

Hussey-Dawson began manufacturing powder compacts in the 1930s under the trademark Gwenda. Located in Birmingham, England, they were famous for their beautiful butterfly wing and foil compacts. These pieces are becoming difficult to find in nice condition - this is a great example.
