This is a super vintage Powder Compact by Gwenda of England, the use of foil to immitate the popular (more expensive) pieces made of butterfly wing - this is a great example and is in lovely condition. Small Round shape all clasps and hinges are in good order, opening to reveal a nice clean interior, the chrome is in very good order showing only the most minor of signs of age, with a nice clear high polish steel mirror, a sifter and pouchette are present - The top is exquisite the colours bright and vibrant, , depicting a crinoline lady, her beau the base is matt black finish and in very good order. Measuring c. 2.1/4" inch (6.7 cm) dia. It is in lovely vintge condition - a pretty piece that will not disappoint!
