Gorgeous - this beautiful early Stratton Stratnoid Powder Compact is made of chrome with a circular, patented powder mechanism to the inside. The top is beautiful all set beneath a clear, soft celluloid cover, the picture, reverse painted of a mermaid playing her harp, the use of foil to the background, immitating the wonderful butterfly wing pictures popular during the period, forms a gorgeous backdrop as if in the ocean water. Measuring c. 2" inch square all clasps and hinges are perfect and the mechanism internally is turning true. The high polish steel mirror is in good order, showing only a couple of wear marks to the corners, but does not detract, all in all a lovely collectable piece that will not disappoint!.
