This is a rare and special find! - Beautiful and in the best of condition, this fabulous Art Deco powder compact dating c. 1930 is a delight! - Signed to the rear for TLM (Thomas Mott) of England, and set to a gilded base, it depicts an unusual scene of a boy sat on the river fishing - using the butterfly wing tehcnique - this is a fine colourful example of the art that was very popular during the 1920/30 Art Deco period the top is lovely without any damage (excuse the light reflection!) Measuring c. 2" inch diameter all clasps and hinges are perfect, opening to reveal a nice clear interior, with a high polish mirror and a metal fitted sifter - very nice, I doubt this little beauty has seen the light of day for many years!
