This is a fabulous piece of art work - highly intricate engraving and red coloured enamelling to both the front and back of this gorgeous vintage cigarette case - slightly curved for ease of handling, it is tactile and interesting - often attributed to WWII prisoner of war art pieces, this has no clues as to where it may have been made -it is a silver colour, but there are no hallmarks so it may well be heavily plated, so I will sell as a white metal - measuring c. 6" inch x 3.1/4" inch all clasps and hinges are in good order, there are no retaining straps, but they can be replaced, it would actually make a very nice card case too - with a good weight at c 185 grammes - very Indian in appearance - this is a nice piece that will surely delight!.
