Description

An English Georgian twin fusee bracket/table clock. An elegant lancet top mahogany case with choice flame veneers. Brass sound fretted side panels with silk backing. A cast brass bezel with convex glass and standing on brass ball feet. A pull repeat to the side. An arched glass back door. A convex dial with blued steel hands signed 'Parkinson & Frodsham, London'. A strike/silent lever to the top of the dial. A quality double fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell of 8-day duration. An engraved name cartouche to the backplate and border engraving. A nice quality steel and brass pendulum with finer adjustment. A pendulum transportation lock. Circa 1820.

Parkinson & Frodsham are recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1801-1850. They are highly regarded clockmakers and illustrated in various clock reference books.
