Description

A good quality drop dial fusee wall clock. A mahogany case with choice flame veneers with a cast brass bezel surround and convex glass. A 12" painted dial signed 'Jno. Hill, Evesham' with blued steel hands. A side door and an opening bottom door. Fine brass inlaid decorations to the base panel. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism. Circa 1830 & later.

John Hill of Evesham is recorded in Loomes' 'The Clockmakers and Watchmakers of The World' book as working from 1828-1842. The dial and mechanism are slightly later circa 1860.
