A fine quality watercolour by the British artist Thomas Ivester Lloyd 1837-1942 of the 11th Mounted Light Dragoons 1782 riding before a coach and horses the picture is signed and inscribed.Born in Liverpool Ivester-Lloyd was a self taught artist who exemplified the early 20th century British sporting scene in his lifestyle and his art.
During the First World War Ivester -Lloyd was commissioned into the Royal artillery and saw service in France. The War office Empire Exhibition contains thirty Dioramas of battles in British history by Ivester-Lloyd.Many people feel his horse portraiture is some of the best of his time.His military and sporting work has become as sought after as many of his contemporaries.This watercolour being one of a pair is being sold seperatley To purchase the pair email me for price and postal cost.
