Oil on canvas by the British artist Rowland Batchelor entitled "Fishing on the Lot".Batchelor was born in London and painted in Watercolour and Oils but was also a draughtsman and printmaker.He started to paint as a child but worked as a civil servant as his farther insisted on him having a steady job.In his spare time he studied and painted, learning from George Morrow at Putney School of Art and after serving in World War One continued to study at Regents Park Polytechnic School of Art under Harry Watson.He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and the Royal Watercolour Society. Batchelor was a fluent french speaker who loved painting in France.The Victorian and Albert Museum hold his work.
