Description

"STORM CLOUDS" is the title of this Oil on canvas by Christine Nisbet 1902-1991 signed. Christine Nisbet was born in America,she obtained a Fine Arts Degree from Yale then went to study in Paris. Some years later she moved back to America to teach Art and the History of Art.She moved to England in 1962 living at Compton Castle where her husband was curator before settling with him at Salcombe in the West Country.Nisbet exhibited at The Chicago Institute, The Pennsylvania Academy of Art,The Corcoran Gallery Washington DC, The Alpine Gallery London,The Medici Gallery, London also Devonshire House, Exeter and The Walker Galleries Honiton.The Photographs do not do the Painting justice,allthough taken in natural light.
