" The White Clipper off The Cornish Coast "( signed & dated 1945) is the title of this superb Watercolour by the Artist A D Bell, the pseudonym used by the British listed artist Wilfred Knox.Knox was contracted to produce paintings for Frost & Reed, he used the alias A D Bell when painting for a dealer in Birmingham where he was born in 1884. Bell specialised in painting Clippers and other nautical subjects.He was a member of the Royal Flying Corps during World War One. He died in 1966.Date1940s :
