Description
"The White Clipper in Falmouth Harbour" is the title of this superb example of the Artists work.signed and dated 1945. A D Bell was a pseudonym used by the listed British Artist Wilfred Knox, he specialised in painting Clipper Sailing ships and other nautical scenes mainly in Watercolour.Knox used the A D Bell alias when painting for an Art dealer in Birmingham where he was born in 1884.He was under contract to produce paintings for Frost and Reed in the name of Wilfred Knox. He served in the Royal Flying Corps during World War One. He died in 1966.Date1940s :
